A seed falls into the earth, meets water and sunlight, takes root, sprouts, and grows into a tree.
A tree cannot choose its place – valley or mountaintop, nor the sunlight’s angle, nor soil quality, nor accept or reject the seasons.
So, it grows quietly.
In the wilderness, we might say, “This tree grows beautifully, like a cloud!”
Or we might say, “This tree grows oddly.”
Yet every tree grows naturally. Different seeds, sunlight, soil, and environment make them unique.
No tree thinks, “My branches are too long here, it’s unattractive.”
Nor does a tree think, “The river nearby has less water each summer, soon I may not survive.”
And no tree thinks, “If I could grow shorter, I’d avoid being cut down.”
A tree minds not its past, present, or future.
What are you worrying about?
